Collin Brady Montgomery

The wait is finally over! We now have a beautiful baby boy, Collin Brady Montgomery. He was born on December 20, at 6:41 AM; 7 lbs. 7 oz., 21 1/4 inches.

UB Update

Yesterday, the doctor's office called and scheduled me to go to the hospital tonight (Thursday) at 9pm and get started on a low dose of the pictosin. Then in the morning, they would kick the dose up higher and hopefully we would have a baby. While I'm looking forward to having the baby, I wasn't particularly looking forward to spending the night in the hospital with an IV attached and being poked and prodded and checked all night long. Well, plans have changed slightly.

This morning the office called again and said that I am to come in tonight at 6:30. At that point, they will put in a tablet of sorts that's supposed to do the same thing as the overnight Pictosin. At that point, I'll be sent home with a time in the morning to come back (unless, of course, things start happening earlier than morning). I must say that I like the sounds of this plan better, because I would much rather sleep in my own bed than in the hospital.

In the meantime, I'm enjoying my last day of work for 6 weeks!! I hope you're enjoying your day as well!!

UB News

UB news in short? There is no news. So far, there's been no action. UB is officially 3 days late, but I'm not too bothered by it yet. I've always told myself that this baby wasn't coming until Christmas so I wasn't super disappointed to see the 13th come and go with no baby. I would definitely not complain if things started happening at any moment, though. It's the only time in my life that I've actually hoped to not feel fine and to feel some pain. I go to the doctor this afternoon, so hopefully we'll hear that at least some progress is being made. They said at my appointment last Monday that they don't typically let people go more than 5 or 6 days past their due date before inducing, so 5 or 6 days would put us at Thursday or Friday. So, regardless, we're planning on having this baby this week. However, as my mom pointed out to me, when she was pregnant with me they tried to induce 3 times and I just wouldn't budge until I was good and ready to come out.

I promise that when there's real news to tell, I'll post (or Matt will) as soon as I can. Speaking of which, I will probably send out a mass text at least to family when there is news to share. Let me know if you want to be included in that. If you're not sure I have your phone number, send that to me also.

Happy Thanksgiving!

What a month it's been since I posted last! We have so been so busy! We are 2 1/2 weeks out from UB'S due date (They changed my due date to the 13th instead of the 8th.) so we've been busy getting things ready for the big day. Last week, the church threw me a baby shower and I'm so excited about and thankful for the generosity of the ladies in our church. We received so many things, so now I feel so much more ready for this baby. (I'm sure that I will never be totally ready, but at least now we have some clothes, a place for the baby to sleep, and diapers). Other than baby stuff, I have been very busy trying to get school stuff organized for maternity leave. Matt has been busy working for Handyman Matters and filling in the slow times with some side jobs. In our spare time, we've been making sure to spend some time just enjoying our time together since we know life will never be the same as soon as UB makes his appearance. We were able to spend a day in DC about a week and a half ago and we've been able to spend a couple of days just lazing around the apartment sleeping in (Rumor has it that we won't be able to do that much in the coming months/years), hanging out, etc.

Since tomorrow is Thanksgiving (and I can't go to bed until my laundry is done and I can get my PJs), I thought I'd take a moment to list some of the things that I'm most thankful for. Of course, I can't list them all (that would take forever), but I'll give it my best shot.

1. My salvation - I feel that I so often take my salvation for granted, but when I really take the time to ponder it I'm in awe over what Christ has done for me and how undeserving I am of His amazing grace.
2. Matthew - I could not imagine a more loving, amazing husband. He's so good to me! I'm so thankful that he works incredibly hard to make sure that he will be able to provide for me and for UB. He has been so wonderful through this entire pregancy. He's patient and kind and so helpful around the house. He even helps with my schoolwork when he can.
3. My family - I love my family. I'm so thankful for my parents, all my brothers and sisters (and in-laws), and all the nieces and nephews. We're all pretty crazy - especially when we're all together - but I love how close we all are and how much fun we all have together.
4. Godly friends - I'm very thankful for the friends we have at church, at volleyball, and from college. Even though some of my best friends are all the way across the country, I'm so thankful for the influence they have been and continue to be in my life.
5. A healthy and relatively easy pregnancy - I'm so thankful that everything has gone so well with this pregnancy. The baby is healthy and has had no complications. I have not had to deal with sickness. I don't wake up at night to pea or readjust or anything. I can still be on my feet all day without pain (which is good since teaching requires being on my feet most of the time). And to top it off, my rings still fit, I can still wear my 4 inch heels, and I still have the energy to run up the stairs at school and our apartment.

Well, the pajamas are dry and Matt's falling asleep so I'll leave it at those things for now. Have a fabulous thanksgiving!!!

Blogging again

Once upon a time, I had blog. However, I haven't done anything with that blog since March of 2007, so I decided that it's about time for a fresh start. Here goes......

Today, we have a new nephew! Cole Clifford Watson was born this morning at 9:59 to Faith and Damian Watson. I can't wait until I can meet him in person and kiss those chubby little cheeks!

Today is 6-weeks from UB's due date! Seeing Faith's little guy really makes me so much more excited about the arrival of our baby. (However, when UB comes, I hope he doesn't weigh as much as his little cousin who weighed in at 8lb. 12oz. this morning). This past weekend we got the baby's room painted and all of the other junk mostly cleared out of it (I'll post pics when I get the chance), so I'm starting to feel like we're getting a little closer to being ready to have a baby.

We received an unexpected day off of school today and I had all kinds of plans to use it wisely, yet hear I am blogging and facebooking and ebaying. Oh well, I've written the occasional test question also. Sadly, though, I've done just about everything productive that I can do from my bed, so I should probably move onto the other things on my list. Currently, that list includes the following: touching up some paint in the baby's room, grocery shopping, cleaning the kitchen, and, sewing a skirt. We'll see how much I can get done in the time I have left for the day (Matt tells me I always try to cram to0 many things in too short a time).
